A beacon for the ummah, built with the tools of our time
Minara connects every Muslim to their daily worship, to their mosque, and to one another, wherever they are in the world.
Fourteen centuries of practice, carried by people and places.
The prayer, the remembrance, the mosque at the centre of the neighbourhood. None of this needs reinventing. It needs protecting, and making easier to keep.
Engineering that serves the practice, and never the other way around.
Accurate times, sourced texts, reliable alarms and a direct line to your mosque. Built to the standards of security engineering, with as little data as possible.
Minara is where the two meet.
Why Minara
- و
- ر
Minara (مَنَارَة) is the Arabic word for minaret. It comes from the same root as nūr, light: a place where light is raised. The minaret gives us three ideas.
The light
A lamp burned at the top of the minaret so it could be seen at night. Minara keeps the light of faith present in everyday life: in the prayer, in remembrance, in what we learn.
The call
Five times a day, the adhan rose from the minaret and reached every home at the right moment. Minara carries that call to every phone, on time.
The landmark
Above the rooftops, the minaret showed everyone where the mosque was. Minara helps every Muslim find their mosque, and keeps every mosque connected to its people.
It started with a question.
Minara began with a Muslim engineer whose work is protecting software that millions of people rely on. The tools his own community used for prayer were full of ads, trackers and unsourced texts.
What if the ummah had technology built with the care of the world’s best software, and the sincerity the faith deserves?
Minara is the answer we are building, together with the mosques and the people who pray in them.
Three circles, one community
Hover or tap a circle.
One believer, one light
Daily faith, supported quietly: accurate prayer times, alarms you can trust, and remembrance with its sources. It starts with one person, on their prayer mat.
What we hold to
Every decision at Minara is checked against these. When they conflict with growth, they win.
Worship first, screen second
Every screen gets you to the prayer or the dhikr, then gets out of the way.
Every source cited
Nothing is shown without its reference: the collection and number, or the surah and verse.
Privacy is an amanah
No ads, and we never sell data. Your location calculates your times and finds mosques near you; we don’t keep it. Analytics only run if you agree.
Secure by design
Built by a security engineer. Collecting as little as possible is a rule, not an afterthought.
The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp; the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly [white] star lit from [the oil of] a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light. Allāh guides to His light whom He wills. And Allāh presents examples for the people, and Allāh is Knowing of all things.
